Evaluation of the Residual Seismic Capacity of Post-Earthquake Damaged RC Columns Based on the Damage Distribution Model

Evaluation of the residual seismic capacity (RSC) post-earthquake damaged buildings is instrumental to formation reasonable recovery strategies. At present, incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) that considers mainshock and aftershock method most frequently used evaluate RSC structures. However, mainshock-induced structural damage determined using IDA may be inconsistent with observed in actual engineering. This inconsistency could potentially lead an unreasonable evaluation result. To overcome this drawback, it necessary structures according their instead obtained by IDA. In paper, a evaluating reinforced concrete (RC) columns proposed. First, degree distribution were evaluated via visual inspection after mainshocks. Then, numerical model was developed predict behavior subjected aftershocks. After that, estimated based on fragility analysis. The degradation collapse quantified index (CFI), parameter conducted study effect parameters CFI columns. Lastly, empirical for predicting proposed, facilitating application assessments. indicates axial load ratio accumulated during mainshocks have significant CFI.
